I remember many many years back when I was involved in the production of a stage play, and how the teacher expected us to cry within three minutes just like a little three-year-old kid who got lost in the shopping mall, and then after that laugh hysterically as if we were some lunatic in a psychiatric ward…. she would even ask us to portray how we would look if we were going to jump from the twin towers… no kidding! And I actually saw how some of my classmates successfully managed to turn on the waterworks and let their tears flow down from their eyes within minutes… and then laugh till they were foaming at the mouth… and within the blink of an eye, look as if they carried the weight of the world upon their shoulders and were about to finish themselves off!

Well, that, is the dedication of a stage actor or actress and what they are willing to go through in order to become an accomplished actor or actress… I salute all of you, my friends.

But if you were to ask me to do it again, I would say “No way!”

To master the craft of acting is to be able to hold and release one’s emotion at will, and to express it well through the role that one is trying to portray.

For this chapter of the Bloodihood play, all the performers are first-timers on the acting stage and I must say you guys really did a fantastic job and I’m looking forward to your new show in a few months time.

Check this out now.
