After another hectic week, finally I’ve managed to find the time to upload some photos from Sher Li & Murphy’s honeymoon-cum-pre-wedding photography session at Chiang Mai, Thailand.
During our four day-trip, we travelled extensively, throughout almost the entire northern part of Thailand! *phew* Kudos to the lovely couple for their willingness and trust in me as their pre-wedding photographer in embarking on this strenuous but exciting photographic journey together with me and my team.
Sher Li and Murphy, thanks for being so supportive and sporting enough to travel all the way from Malaysia to Thailand, and bearing with the long hours driving throughout Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai for your photoshoot. You are one really sporting couple!
Now let’s take a look and see what we’ve got! Both of them make such a lovely couple, don’t you think?
More photos can be found here.
Chiang Mai is famous for its handcrafted umbrellas and fans.

You’ve not seen Chiang Mai if you’ve not been to the renowned Wat Prathat Doi Suthep.

It was a really hot day at the elephant sanctuary…. but the lovely couple nevertheless had fun during their elephant ride.

Sheltering under their umbrella at the colourful villages of the Karen & Akha tribes.

Well, I’m finally back in Malaysia after nearly a week in Thailand for Sher Li and Murphy’s pre-wedding photography session.
Not only is Thailand one of my favorite destinations for my work as a destination wedding photographer, but it’s also a wonderful place for a holiday! The country’s great variety of culture, exotic food ie spicy tom yum (!), and warm hospitality, are the reasons that I keep returning to this amazing country.
Last week, we had the chance to spend some time in Chiang Mai with Sher Li and Murphy for their pre-wedding photoshoot. For starters, here is one of the couple’s favourite pics to whet your appetites. This was taken at the famous Wat Prathat Doi Suthep.
The rest of the photos will be uploaded here soon, so do come back again to view them.

Indian Weddings,
Preweddings
Hi everyone… yes, I know it has been a month since I’ve updated my blog… I’ve been so busy travelling both within Malaysia as well as overseas. In fact, next week, I will be traveling again… this time to Chiengmai, Thailand, for a pre-wedding photoshoot.
Anyway, here’s one of my recent pre-wedding photography sessions to share with you all. Not only is Frasers Hill a well-loved holiday location in Malaysia, but it is also an increasingly popular destination for pre-wedding photography.
Whilst there to photograph Keeli and Avinash’s pre-wedding on a week day, we bumped into two other groups of photographers on various shoots!
The cool refreshing climate up there is a welcome change for wedding couples all decked out in their resplendent attire… gives new meaning to the happy term ‘no sweat’!
Despite a slight drizzle, the weather was lovely… cool, fresh air, and just the right amount of sunshine… We spent some time shooting at the park, a few colonial bungalows, and the golf resort… plus some Bollywood style shots as well. The sporting couple were attired in the customary white wedding gown, traditional Indian garments ie sari and kurta, and evening wear.
Hope you enjoy viewing the photos!

To have great outdoor pre-wedding photos, I firmly believe that it take two parties to work together in creating the best images possible… just like a body needs a heart to drive every component to work, or a kite needs the wind to fly.
If these two combinations are met, then all the creative possibilities will flow like the Niagara Falls.
Yes, thanks to both of you for communicating to me exactly what you wish to tell through your photos, ie, the differences in both your characters and yet being able to unite as one, and showing your energetic and fun side. I’m a happy photographer when wedding couples are so open in communicating what they desire.
All these elements merged together add not only meaning but a soul to the photos.
After all, this is a once in a lifetime thing.

Thomas and Hui Ling, I’m so glad that both of you agreed to try out Fraser’s Hill as your pre-wedding photography location. Not many couples are willing to venture that far for a pre-wedding shoot… but it is well worth it for those who do!
I’ve seen so many couples having their pre-wedding photography session at Kiara Park, Taman Tun, and you can imagine the scorching sun blazing down on them in their wedding attire… the poor groom sweltering under his dark jacket absorbing all the sun’s heat, his white shirt inside soaking wet from perspiration… and the emotions registering on his face a tortured “Why Me? What have I done to deserve this?” kind of look, while the bride continues to smile serenely (somehow women are always so much more tolerant and still manage a smile!) in front of the camera without any complaints despite all her layers of bridal satin!
Believe you me, those are not exactly the emotions you want captured during your pre-wedding shoot, not plastered-on smiles on the outside but inside thinking, “It’s soooo hot!! When can I take off all these extra layers of clothing!? When can I get indoors under the air-con!?”. How much more meaningful it is to be comfortable, and to be yourself, so that your natural and ‘real’ emotions, and characteristics, can be encapsulated in the digital images that you will treasure for a lifetime.
So, kudos to Thomas and Hui Ling for braving the two-hour drive up to Fraser’s Hill and its winding roads just for this pre-wedding shoot.

Some funny posts… LOL…

What are the perfect ingredients for a great pre-wedding photography shoot?
I sum it up in these few points:
1. Great weather with a perfect blue sky
2. A glorious sunset
3. The company of great friends
4. A crazy couple that trusts their just-as-crazy photographer
We had so much fun on this trip, and this is one the most luxurious destination pre-wedding trips, in terms of team members, that I’ve ever had. We had a make-up artist along on the trip, as well as two other photographer friends, Edward Chan & WS Chen, shooting together with me. A big thank you to all of you who made this trip so unforgettable for me and my wife, Julie, who was also assisting in coordinating the trip.
Mix all the people together, and Voila… this is what we get!!!
Vincent and Felicia are a really sporting couple. It was great fun photographing both of you, and I’m honoured that you’ve booked me to be both your pre-wedding and actual wedding day photographer!
The long-tailed boat is synonymous with Krabi.

And then on to the speedboat.

Krabi is famous for its beautiful pristine white-sand beaches and limestone Karst formations.

Maya Bay is where the popular year 2000 movie, ‘The Beach’, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, was filmed.

Some fun Bollywood Movie-Star style shots.

Sunset shots in Krabi, cannot be missed.

And finally, a Trash the Dress Session. I’m so thrilled that Vincent and Felicia are so sporting, and to know that they had as much fun as I did on this shoot! In fact, Felicia even made a dress specially just for this shoot!

I look forward to shooting your wedding later this year in Kuantan, Pahang.

It was a great trip to Krabi, Thailand, to photograph Vincent and Felicia’s pre-wedding this week. I will upload more photos soon, but here is just one to whet your appetites first.
