To have great outdoor pre-wedding photos, I firmly believe that it take two parties to work together in creating the best images possible… just like a body needs a heart to drive every component to work, or a kite needs the wind to fly.
If these two combinations are met, then all the creative possibilities will flow like the Niagara Falls.
Yes, thanks to both of you for communicating to me exactly what you wish to tell through your photos, ie, the differences in both your characters and yet being able to unite as one, and showing your energetic and fun side. I’m a happy photographer when wedding couples are so open in communicating what they desire.
All these elements merged together add not only meaning but a soul to the photos.
After all, this is a once in a lifetime thing.![]()

grace,
I enjoy working with you and meng hong very much, I’m getting ready and excited to shoot your big day
Elaine,
Thank You.
Benny,
appreciate it.
Thanks for dropping by
I particularly liked the bookshop shots, especially the ‘let’s-hide-behind-our-books-and-giggle’ shots and also the colours on the night scene shot in bukit bintang.
=) very personal shots they were of the two of you.
a good friend of mine agreed with me that the playground shots were very me, the night shots were very meng hong and the others were simply very “us”!
thanks for being such a superb photographer, alex!
Alex
Really good stuff ….. well done. Now with the D700, it will be better still.
Alex, I think you are the best wedding photographer in Malaysia …. until some pastor (don’t know who) retires and gives u some competition (ha ha).
shuyi,
Thanks for dropping by, glad you like the photos
Reverend Eu,
It is really my honor to have you visiting my blog, but I think “God want you” to be a Pastor not a photographer…kakaka!!!
i’ve seen the way alex’s photography has grown with each wedding couple that he’s photographed…
and i guess it’s because he’s not a conservative photographer…. he dares to explore and push the boundaries in creativity… so if the couple is also not conservative and open to tryin something different, then the results can be pretty amazing…
the Meng Hong and Grace (or MnG) photoshoot is definitely one with the “WOW factor”. the places and themes selected are so much a reflection of the couple’s personality and characteristics, what they are all about, their likes, their similarities and differences, and that makes it so much more meaningful than just any regular pre-wedding photoshoot.
i’m sure that this is one set of pre-wedding photographs that won’t just be kept somewhere in some dust-covered album on a shelf of someone’s home… but it will be one that is treasured and cherished for generations to come.
Was going through the shots thinking that these are more than the usual “just having a couple with nice scenery as a backdrop” kinda pre-wedding shots.
More than having the standard beach side, really felt that the chosen locations, props and shots captured MnG as they are. (With the exception of MHong in the matrix suit at Marriott, we know he’s a T-shirt & shorts Penang boy at heart
)
Double thumbs up from me
Great stuff. They both look very good. They both naturally already look good together but the pictures bring out the best of them.
Keep it up and have fun.
The pictures are so characteristically ‘them’ … very sweet!
